Titanfall 2 is out this week and for those looking to try an new FPS, how does it compare to Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3? The answer will likely vary based on who you ask but early review so far are good, very good. In terms of reviews, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 stands at an 81% at Metacritic. Titanfall 2 currently stands at an 89%. If you look at it purely from the perspective of critics then yes, Titanfall 2 is the better game…
There are however many other things to consider. For example Black Ops 3 comes with the hugely popular Zombies mode, Titanfall 2 has nothing that compares to this mode. Both games however ship with a single player campaign and multiplayer. Black Ops 3 has an optional Season Pass that costs $50 and includes 4 map packs. Titanfall 2 hasn’t announced their DLC yet but they are promising free downloadable content. Whether this free DLC compares to that of paid map packs is something we’ll have to wait and see.
Titanfall 2 could easily be mistaken for Black Ops 3. Once you see a Titan running around though the difference is clear. Titans are Titanfall 2s stand-out feature and are acquired on a timer, similar to the Specialists in Black Ops 3. Both Titanfall 2 and Black Ops 3 are futuristic shooters. They both feature wall running and boost-jumps. Titanfall 2 appears to be the faster-paced game with skilled players able to out-maneuver their opponents by wall running and chaining various walls jumps. Players considering buying Titanfall 2 will probably miss kill streaks which have been a major part of Call of Duty games since Modern Warfare.
